New Cub Information

Welcome to Cub Scout Pack 40

We meet at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on the corner of South Highland and Midland every Tuesday night. Please check at the front desk for room assignments if not posted.

Our weekly meetings are called
Den Meetings where the boys meet with their same-age group and work on the requirements for their badge. Once a month we have a Pack Meeting (usually the second Tuesday of the month). This is for the entire family—siblings, too. We have fun, we sing silly songs, you will be given information on upcoming events, and awards will be given out to the boys who have earned them that month.

The
uniform for first – third graders is the blue Cub Scout shirt with appropriate patches (at the Scout Shop tell them you are with Pack 40), blue Cub Scout webbed belt, blue/gold Cub Scout socks, and hat (optional). You may wear the blue school uniform pants (not jeans or khaki). The neckerchief and slide are different for each grade. See below.

You will need to purchase the corresponding book immediately and bring it to every meeting.

Tigers

If you are in the first grade, you are a Tiger Cub. A Tiger Cub is required to have a parent/guardian or other adult (over 18) with them at every meeting for the entire meeting. The Tiger uniform has the orange necker-chief and Tiger Cub slide. Your Den Meetings are from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Wolves

If you are in the second grade, you are a Wolf. Parents are needed and encouraged to be at each meeting, but if something comes up, you may drop off your son and pick him up after the meeting. Wolves wear the yellow neckerchief and corresponding slide. Your Den Meetings are from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Bears

If you are in the third grade, you are a Bear. Parents are needed and encouraged to be at each meeting, but if something comes up, you may drop off your son and pick him up after the meeting. Bears wear the blue neckerchief and corresponding slide. Your Den Meetings are from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Weblos

If you are in the fourth or fifth grade, you are a Webelo. Webelos wear the khaki shirt and olive pants (which you will also wear as a Boy Scout). You will need the same shirt patches as the blue shirt (Pack 40), green webbed belt, olive/red socks. Hat is also optional. The Webelos neckerchief is plaid and there is a Webelos slide. The Webelo Den will meet from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Scout Shop

Uniforms, books and anything else you may want can be purchased at the Boy Scout Shop, 171 South Hollywood (across the street from the Board of Education). Phone: 323-7281.
